Los Angeles Comic Con took place this past weekend (October 11-13, 2019), and my photographer Mark Patton and I took to the Con floor to check out all the awesomeness, snap some pictures, and enjoy the show. Our day started stupidly early. Why? Because not only did we want to get the all-important parking space, we were also super excited for the show and wanted to be one of the first one’s on the convention floor. Mission accomplished! We came across a number of vendors and companies, as one does with all Cons, but we were also able to take a look at the Legion M booth, those that helped fund the soon to be released Jay & Silent Bob Reboot, as well as the documentary MEMORY: THE ORIGINS OF ALIEN. With a Giant Alien Queen set up and a life-sized Quick Stop, where they assured us they were open.

We were able to sit down for a few panels and hear the voices of the 90’s X-Men Animated series voice actors speak about their experiences, how they didn’t realize how iconic the show would be until it was over. It was great to see the voices behind Wolverine (Cathal J. Dodd), Rogue (Lenore Zann), Gambit (Chris Potter), and Beast (George Buza). It was amazing to hear my childhood come to life and see the men and women behind some characters that shaped my love for comics. It was a short, but amazingly fun panel on the main stage. It allowed for a few stories, and to show how deeply X-Men the animated series, along with a number of those animated series from the 90’s shaped many childhoods, including voice actors: Christy Carolson-Romano (Kim Possible), Will Friedle (Batman Beyond), Tom Kenny (Spongebob), and Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants).

After the inspiring and fun Main Stage Panel Mark and I wandered about and took a look at the different creators, cosplayers, and even some celebrities that were on floor. The day was filled with nerdy goodness as we took in all we could for the day we were there. From the X-Men panel to Steven Universe, all the way to the Ron Pearlman Hellboy reunion.

L.A. Comic Con had it all and will return in September 2020!
