I’ll start off by thanking Teddy Wilson for taking time last month to speak with me just prior to the season 4 premiere of his awesome show, MIGHTY TRAINS, on Discovery Canada. While this season will come to a close soon, I cannot recommend this show highly enough. Be sure to look for where you can stream the series in your neck of the woods, and enjoy the most recent and definitely past seasons, too. You’ll be happy you did.

Wilson truly is the conductor of fun travel adventure we need right now. His enthusiasm about all things trains—whether they’re fast, slow or anything in between—is absolutely palpable. You can’t help but be engaged when watching him ride some of the most famous rails in the world. Thankfully, this season wrapped filming a mere whistle-stop moment before the pandemic hit in early 2020. However, from my point of view, and when it’s safe to travel more often, I hope to ride some of the mightiest trains featured in this series to date.

You may be wondering: “Hey, you’re a comic book industry site, why are you talking trains?” Good question. And here are a few answers: 1. Trains are awesome. 2. It’s fun to celebrate things people are GEEKY about (in this case, talking trains with Teddy), and 3. You can read comics on a train. There. Nailed it. In each episode, Wilson invites us to join in on the adventure with him, and that’s what makes this series great.

I asked Wilson about his start on MIGHTY TRAINS, and he told me that he started this particular dream job at the same time he was also doing his other dream job, when he was a host on the much beloved show, Innerspace (which ran for 10 epic seasons). He also gives us insight into his most memorable mighty trains, and ones he’d love to travel on again. And, in this latest season, he talks about suffering altitude sickness when in Peru. Now that’s dedication to the job right there. Nothing is going to stop Wilson from boarding these cool trains and telling us all about them.

So hop on board by hitting play on the interview below, and enjoy as Teddy Wilson tells you so much more about MIGHTY TRAINS.
